About Me

I am a certified Shamanic Astrologer, freelance writer, naturalist, and Reiki II practitioner living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have studied with Daniel Giamario, the founder of Shamanic Astrology, and his partner in this work, Cayelin Castell.

I call my practice “heart centered astrology.” I always ask the question—how is this sign (Gemini, Aquarius, Scorpio, etc.) expressed through the heart? I believe that humanity is currently moving from a mind-oriented Information Age to an era of intuitive and heart-centered knowing—and that this shift will enable us to powerfully emerge the new social structures and values to serve all humanity, the Earth, and future generations.

Training

As is true with every practitioner of Shamanic Astrology, my greatest teacher has been the night sky. I have visited Chaco Canyon, Machu Picchu, and Chichen Itza. The site where I received my most illuminating insights during my training as a Shamanic Astrologer was in a small canyon in the Ojito Wilderness, surrounded by hoodoo rock formations, and the beautiful silence.

Background

I was born into a traditional Christian family of 9 children and was fascinated from an early age by the diversity of personalities within our household. As a Neptune empath with a Gemini Moon mastery of duality, I could connect to and appreciate the often contrasted and conflicting values and needs of my parents and siblings, seeing the truth in each individual’s preferences.

As an adult, I have always been drawn to backgrounds and cultures very different from my own. I have worked as an ally with Native American communities from the Dine (Navajo) at Big Mountain to the Nez Perce in Idaho, as well as the urban Native American community in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I helped to found a small permaculture farm in the West Bank of Palestine with Murad Al Khufash, whose family has farmed the region for over ten generations.

Astrology for Earth Renewal

I have always felt a deep kinship with the natural world, learning the names and uses of native plants in the land surrounding my parents small Missouri farm. My sisters, brother and I would sleep under the stars every August, watching the Perseid meteor showers. This awoke within me a fascination for celestial cycles, linking my love for the land with an appreciation for the vast yet intimate sky, and the cycles of the sun, moon, stars, and planets.

I love to approach life as a grand adventure, and to stretch my limits. In my twenties I fell in love with the West, backpacking the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the flanks of Mount Rainier, Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains, Oregon’s Eagle Cap Wilderness, Hell’s Canyon, and Denali National Park. More recently, I have explored the landscapes and rich cultural traditions of the Peruvian Andes as well as the sacred landscape of Israel and Palestine.

I have always sought a healing interface between the natural world and modern human culture. I see equal importance in liberating the wild and magical impulse within each human being and protecting the wild landscapes that so nourish my own spirit. I believe each human possesses an indigenous soul—the capacity to tune into Earth consciousness and align their life in service to the whole.
